In terms of piezometer monitoring and pumping tests, Sondagens Casal has invested in technology that was specifically designed for the purpose, which allows a more efficient control over its works.
The equipment used in the monitoring system includes electrical switchboards with frequency inverters, electronic level probes, flow pulse meters and computers with dedicated software.
The pumps are powered by the electrical switchboards, which, in turn, are managed by the integrated software. Therefore, it is possible to adjust the speed of the pumps through the amount of power supplied and, consequently, adjust the flow rate to the analysis being conducted.
The flow rate may be fixed or variable, according to a predefined requirement. Similarly, the level probes are connected to the electrical switchboard, allowing the integrated software to continuously record the static and hydrodynamic levels.
It is also possible to remotely control the entire system, allowing different project team members to have different access levels and receive programmable warnings and operating instructions via SMS.
This equipment is rather versatile and it can be adjusted for any type of work. It can be used for pumping tests, as well as for the monitoring of piezometers and dewatering systems. By using electronic equipment, it is possible to simultaneously monitor several water wells, recording the interference between them and/or the stabilisation of the intended hydraulic level.
